NEC 2023 Article 210 — Branch Circuits

Branch circuit ratings, required outlets, and GFCI/AFCI protection. 210.8 mandates GFCI in kitchens, bathrooms, garages, outdoor, and unfinished basements. 210.12 mandates AFCI in bedrooms and living areas.

Kitchen: minimum 2 × 20A small-appliance circuits plus dedicated circuits for dishwasher, disposal, fridge. Laundry: dedicated 20A circuit. Bathroom: dedicated 20A circuit.
