HazCom 2012 (GHS-aligned): employers must inform workers of chemical hazards in the workplace. Key requirements: Written hazard communication program, chemical inventory. Safety Data Sheets (SDS) — 16-section format, must be accessible during every shift. Sections: 1. Identification, 2. Hazard(s), 3. Composition, 4. First-aid, 5. Fire-fighting, 6. Regulatory, 16. Other. Container labeling: product identifier, signal word (Danger/Warning), hazard statement, precautionary statements, supplier info, GHS pictograms. Training: at initial assignment and when new hazards introduced. Common construction chemicals: concrete (alkaline burns, chromium), solvents (MEK, toluene, xylene), adhesives, epoxies, diesel fuel, hydraulic fluid, form release agents, silica dust, asbestos (separate standard).
