IBC Section 1410 — Dwelling Unit Entries

Specifies accessible entry door and approach to dwelling units.

Section 1410 requires that at least one entry to each dwelling unit be accessible. Primary entry must have accessible approach with proper slope and surface. Entry doors must be 36 inches clear width. Door hardware must be accessible with lever handles. Landings on each side of the door must be adequate for door swing without blocking accessibility.
