Section 2703 establishes maximum allowable quantities and storage requirements for flammable liquids. Gasoline, paint thinners, and other liquids with flash points below 100 Fahrenheit are flammable liquids. Small quantities (up to 5 gallons) can be stored in approved cabinets. Larger quantities require separate storage rooms with fire-resistance rating, ventilation, and drainage. Liquid storage tanks must have secondary containment to capture spills. Electrical equipment must be explosion-proof. Smoking and open flames are prohibited in storage areas.
