Section 2808 requires high-rise building exterior walls to be noncombustible. Combustible insulation is not permitted (foam plastics prohibited). Insulation must be noncombustible mineral or glass fiber. Interior finishes on air plenums must be non-combustible. Spandrel glass between floors must be fire-rated to prevent fire spread. Balcony railings must not project more than 18 inches to prevent fire spread between units.
