Standard for residential sprinkler systems protecting homes and life safety.

NFPA 13D provides simplified sprinkler design for residential buildings. Dry-pipe systems in cold climates protect from freezing. Residential sprinklers are smaller and less expensive than commercial. Design densities are 0.15 gallons per minute per square foot. Sprinkler activation causes automatic alarm notification. System testing and maintenance are required annually.
