Phase 1 — INSULATE: batt, blown, or spray foam per energy code. Vapor retarder per climate zone (CZ 4+ typically Class II on warm side). Batt: face stapled to studs, full cavity fill, no compression at outlets. HOLD POINT: insulation inspection (verify R-value, coverage, vapor retarder). Phase 2 — DRYWALL: hang ceiling first, then walls. 1/2in standard or 5/8in Type X (fire-rated). Screw pattern per GA-216. Specialty: moisture-resistant (green board) in bathrooms, abuse-resistant in commercial. Phase 3 — TAPE AND FINISH: embed tape, 3-coat system to Level 4 (residential) or Level 5 (critical). Sand between coats. Phase 4 — PRIME: PVA primer on new drywall (seals, provides uniform base). Phase 5 — PAINT: 2 coats finish (eggshell/satin walls, flat ceiling, semi-gloss trim/doors). Phase 6 — TRIM: base, casing, crown, chair rail. Pre-prime all six sides before install. Nail, fill, touch-up.
